Sometimes a warning may be in order….

Reading through the blog reports on activerain.com today I came across a blog talking about finding abandoned pit bulls in a foreclosed property and the shock that the Realtor got when he walked in on them! As bad as it could have been, it reminded me of an incident not too long ago where we found a 4′ alligator living in the basement of a split foyer in Waldorf. Now typically I would be able to move past something like that, despite it’s unusual nature, but you would have thought that someone would have bothered to mention in the listing "hey watch out for wally, he’s usually well fed, but I wouldn’t risk it.". Unfortunately, no such luck. We got to turn around to find him hissing and walking towards us. I can’t say for certain that he was unfriendly, but I had no desire to find out. Needless to say, Our client didn’t request a second showing!
The point is, as a real estate agent, you’ve got to make sure that you don’t allow others to unknowingly place themselves in dangerous situations, and you never know what you’re going to find in a house you’re showing, so be careful!
