Can Waldorf, MD be re-designed?

There was a good news segment on NBC last week discussing the possible re-design of Waldorf, and the concept of putting in a Rt. 301 bypass.
The concept has been around for quite some time, but nothing final has been decided. What do you guys think of the idea? Personally, I’d love to see anything that would ease the congestion on 301, especially during rush hour!
